Guided by colour

As an interior designer, when looking for clients inspiration is always very important to us, here we look at how to use a vibrant colour through accents - starting with one of my favourites...Pink.  Not always everyone's first choice of accent colour but it is one that can instantly give life to a room.  In this case we will be focusing on the master bedroom.

First our inspiration.... I love the way the black stands out against all the glorious colours - we will be trying to bring this same inspiration in to our product choices.

This swirling black mirror would will stand out so well against the other accents

Now to add some of that gorgeous colour... this bedding from Zara Home is simply gorgeous.

The beautiful pattern of this bed brings together the natural flow of the inspiration with the starkness of the black - imagine how wonderful this will look against that shocking pink.

The lighting for either side of this gorgeous bed is very important, you can either angle towards the more traditional side table lamp or go for a more modern pendent lamp next to the bed, for me I would probably go with the pendent lamp as it allows more space one the bedside tables and because these lamps subtly bring in the gold running down the centre of our inspiration.

For the centre chandelier I would want to go for something very dramatic as our inspiration certainly wasn't lacking in that!

A really obvious choice for artwork would be the first image below however I would probably have commissioned so it would bring together all the colours perfectly.

Would love to know your thoughts...x
